Angus MP Mike Weir and North Angus and Mearns MSP Mairi Evans visited GSK Montrose to meet Site Director Les Thomson and his team and learn more about the recently announced investment in the plant and their vision of the future.
Mr Weir and Ms Evans had a tour of the new manufacturing facility and discussed issues facing the Montrose facility and the GSK group.
Commenting on the visit Mr Weir said
“ It was good to again visit GSK and see how they are continuing to invest in Montrose. The new facility is very impressive and demonstrates the commitment that the company has to the facility, which remains a major employer not only in Montrose but in the wider Angus economy.”
Mairi Evans added
“ The Scottish Government have been very supportive of GSK over the years and it is very heartening to see the company investing in the Montrose facility.
“ Montrose forms part of a multinational network of manufacturing ingredients that operates in conjunction with facilities in Europe, North America and the Far East, making it an important part of GSK’s plans for the future.”
