Angus MP Mike Weir and prospective SNP candidate for Angus North and Mearns Cllr Mairi Evans visited Montrose Port Authority on Friday to meet with Chief Executive Nicholas Scott-Gray.
Cllr Evans who is Angus Council spokesperson for Development and Enterprise said,
” It’s great to see how much is going on at Montrose Port. The council is in the process of investing £3 M to build the Montrose South Spine Road and we can already see the spin-off benefits with new buildings and new jobs with further developments in the pipeline”
Mike Weir commented,
“ It was good to get an update on the activities at the Port and to hear it is doing so well, despite a challenging business environment in some areas of its activities.”
“ The potential of the port in the years ahead is very encouraging and exciting with their plans building on current successes.”
